Hair Care Routine:
It is normal to lose 100 -150 strands of hair a day, so don’t panic. Here are some few simple things you must know to care your hair.
Scalp massaging:
Oil massage on the scalp, at least twice a week for 5 to 10 minutes. Massaging improve the blood circulation of the scalp which improves the strength and growth of the hair. You can choose coconut oil, almond oil, sesame oil, castor oil or any other herbal oils.
Shampooing:
Choose sulphate free shampoos or any herbal or Ayurvedic shampoos. Sulphate causes dryness on the scalp also can increase the dandruff issues. Also over use of biotin, which contain in the shampoo can also increases the scalp dryness. Also the pH of the scalp is 4 – 5, which is acidic and this maintain the scalp moisture. Most shampoos which are available in the market are having the pH above 8, which is on the alkaline side. Thus these products can create fizziness, dryness, breakage and hair fall. So better make herbal powders and mix with water and use for hair wash.
Conditioning:
Conditioners have many benefits from moisturizing, shininess and fizz reduction. Particularly recommended to use after shampooing to replenish the moisture. Same as shampoos, choose the sulphate free conditioners. Hibiscus, Sikaka, reeta are the common best herbs act as hair conditioners.
Drying hairs:
Don’t use hard and thick towels for drying hairs. Using hard towels increases the friction and can damage the hair root. So use microfiber towels for drying and wrapping or gentle rubbing the hairs, which reduces the friction.
Combing:
It is very important part. There are 2 kinds of combing – wet and dry.
Never detangle when your hair is dry. Better spray some water on the hair and comb, means do combing always on damp hair to avoid split ends and breakage of the hair. Use wide tooth comp or paddle brush reduces hair falling.
When hair is wet, usually it stretches and more susceptible to breakage. So it will be easy to remove tangle but if done without care can damage the hair. So always do it gently with care. Wet hair comping is recommended for curly hairs and damp hair comping is better for straight or wavy hairs.
Add jojoba oil or tea tree oil in the water for spraying hairs before comping, makes the hair more elastic and smoother.

Hair porosity test:
Porosity means full of pores. The ability of hairs to absorb and retain moisture. Porosity is of 3 kinds – High, Medium and Low porosity hair. Mostly combined porosity can see in a person’s scalp, some are low, medium and high porosity hairs.
High porosity hair, absorbs more water but its unable to hold or retain. And in low porosity hair, it’s hard to get or absorb moisture.
Test for hair porosity:
Take a glass of water. Drop a clean and dry hair strand to the water. If it sinks to the bottom, then the porosity is high. If it slowly sinks, then the porosity is medium. If it floats, then the porosity is low. Once the porosity is tested then it is easy to decide the type of pack for the hair.
